Among the many transactions where LAWIN professionals were involved, was advising Teo and Telia Sonera in Lithuania, rendering legal services to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) regarding acquisition of the strategic stake in Parex bank in Latvia and issuance of the subordinated loan, as well as advising the City Government of Tallinn on the largest Public Private Partnership (PPP) project in Estonia – renovation of public schools. The Lawyer’s UK awards have been the industry's benchmark of quality for more than a decade. This year it was the first time when the weekly magazine decided to give European awards for the best law firms in the continental Europe. A panel of expert judges reviewed submissions looking for evidence of strong local identity and market share, and entries were judged on the following criteria: strategic vision, strong partnership ethos, strong financial performance and growth, consistent excellence in their chosen sectors, and excellent talent management. Law firms from 47 countries participated in the event. The winners were announced on November 5 in Barcelona.
